This cycle tour really has a lot to offer: the sporting adventure, culture and history make your holiday to an unforgettable experience. Our tour takes you through parts of the Salzkammergut and the Mozart town Salzburg in seven days.

General Information: The cycle tours don't have any technical difficulties, there are only very few ascents! Some physical fitnessand stamina are necessary though as well as cycle equipment like trainers, rucksack, sun- and rainprotection, comfortable sports cloths, jacket, jumper aso. The routes can easily be road on with trekkingbikes - mostly they are asphalted cycle paths, a few stretches are gravel and forest paths. Should you wanto spend a day more relaxingly you can cover the stretch by public transport like bus, train or boat.


Routing:

1. day: Individual arrival in Bad Ischl.

In our information center located in Bad Ischl you will get the
informational report and your travel documents (possible every day till 7 p.m.). Overnight stay in Bad Ischl.


2. day: Bad Ischl - St. Wolfgang - St. Gilgen - Lake Mondsee - Thalgau. Distance: approx. 47 km
The cycle path starts in Bad Ischl, goes through Pfandl - Radau to St. Wolfgang - with the boat from St. Wolfgang to the Mozart village St.Gilgen - over the Scharfling and past the Krottensee and to the lake Mondsee. Further to Thalgau. Overnight stay in Thalgau.


3. day: Thalgau - Lake Mondsee - Lake Irrsee - Neumarkt - Lake Wallersee circular tour - Seekirchen. Distance: approx. 58 km From Thalgau via lake Mondsee (Tipp: Visit the "Rauchhaus" and the "Bauernmuseum" – an outdoor museum in Mondsee and see how people live and worked in former times!) to lake Irrsee along the cycle path - the path takes you to the end of the lake in Oberhofen along the left shore - branch off to Neumarkt - round the Wallersee to Seekirchen. Overnight stay at lake Wallersee.


4. day: Lake Wallersee - Schleedorf - Lake Mattsee - Lakes Obertrumer Seen circular tour - Seeham. Distance: approx. 55km

From lake Wallersee past Köstendorf to Schleedorf - further to lake Mattsee - lake Obertrumersee / Mattsee circular tour - to Seeham. Overnight stay at the lake Obertrumer see.


5. day: Seeham - Anthering - Oberndorf - Salzburg - Hallein. Distance: approx. 55 km
From Seeham past Anthering to Oberndorf - Quiet Night Chapel - along the river Salzach on the Mozart cycle path to Salzburg and further along the river to Hallein. Overnight stay in Hallein.


6. day: Hallein - Salzburg - Eugendorf - Thalgau. Distance: approx. 40 km
Along the left river bank to Salzburg - visit of the city - onward journey along the former railway Ischler Bahn line past Eugendorf and to Thalgau. Overnight stay in Thalgau.

 

7. day: Thalgau - St. Lorenz - Scharfling - St. Gilgen - Bad Ischl. Distance: approx. 65 km

From Eugendorf along the old railway line to Thalgau - through the forest to St. Lorenz by the lake Mondsee - back to the lake Wolfgangsee over the Scharfling (short ascent on high-pass Scharflingpass) - lake side cycle path to Strobl - through Lindau back to Ischl Overnight stay in Bad Ischl.


8. day: Individual departure or additional nights can be booked.

Arrangement:

  • 7 x Overnight stays with breakfast buffet in ***hotels/inns
  • 1 x Informational report in service centre of Salzkammergut Touristik
  • 1 x Cycling map - Salzburg area and further information
  • 1 x Boat trip on lake Wolfgangsee (from St. Wolfgang to St. Gilgen) incl. bicycle
  • 1 x visit of the "Rauchhaus" and the "Bauernmuseum" (outdoor museum) in Mondsee
  • Daily luggage transfer (2 pieces – every further piece € 5,--)
  • Daily cycle and break-down service from 9.00 - 19.00 o'clock (only when you rented bikes)
  • Service Hotline daily from 9.00 - 19.00 o'clock (also on weekend)

Information for arrivals by car... The parking place does not situate next to the accommodation but on a public parking place in Bad Ischl. (Costs for one week approximately € 15,--)
